SARAH NICHOLSON is an academic with a PhD in feminist studies of literature and religion. She has been a Visiting Scholar at York University in Canada and the Australian National University, and a Postdoctoral Researcher at Sydney University. She teaches across the fields of religion and gender studies, literature, methodologies in the creative arts, and academic writing practice at the University of Wollongong, and at Western Sydney University.
She was an awardee of the Ian Potter Cultural Trust for Literature, has been a recipient of the Writer’s and Translator’s Centre of Rhodes fellowship (Greece), and is the 2017 Emerging Writer in Residence for the Katherine Susannah Pritchard Writer’s Centre (Australia). She is a board member of South Coast Writers’ Centre, and a past director of the National Young Writers Festival.
She is the author of The Evolutionary Journey of Woman, and an editor of Integral Voices on Sex, Gender and Sexuality for SUNY Press. Recently she founded The Neoperennial Press as part of Wollongong’s Creative Spaces program, and is presently writing a novel titled Ninshubur.
She is the mother of two boys and is based on the beautiful Illawarra coast of Australia.
